COBÁ
Coba was developed about five lakes essential to their development and survival factor.
Description
Coba was developed about five lakes essential to their development and survival factor.
With approximately 70km2 extension, the city was connected by roads raised with large stone, known in Mayan language as Sacbé (white road).
Some hieroglyphic inscriptions on steles and panels site allow us to say that Coba was the original name of the city. One of the possible meanings and the most plausible, given its proximity to the lake, is “choppy water”.
By land: Coming from Playa del Carmen or Tulum. The distance is about 112 and 47 kilometers respectively.
